123poem

March 2, 2011

The greater half of our greater selves
is hidden from the great sun in the great
daytime sky. This phenomenon is called
life, and it happens mostly indoors.
Alas! Plastic sidewalk tables abound
in this city playground we ride like ceramic
horses on giant springs of childishness
Though it’ll never be documented outside
paid hours I store your manila smiles
in alphabetical order for later reference.
All snugged up in romp it’s hard to resist
when you call with teeter-totters on your breathe
and whispers brooding in the background.
Hello gladdening, let’s go play outside!
